• TOTÓ MARQUÉS WITH HIS PRADES 950 PROJECT (PRADES, TARRAGONA)

Totó Marqués is a family winery, with its own vineyards with the CCPAE ecological cultivation certificate, which since 2015 has been dedicated to the cultivation of grapes and the production of red wines in Poboleda, Priorat.

Recently, a wine-growing project has been started in Prades, a municipality of the few in Catalonia classified as a "charming" town, belonging to the Baix Camp region, and located at an altitude of about 950 meters.

They started with the planting of 4 hectares of vineyard in 2008, in a farm that is located in the center of the Poblet forest, on the slopes of the Montañas de Prades and in licorella soil. A mirror of his plots in the Priorat. There are data that on the same farm the monks of the monastery of Poblet cultivated grapes before the phylloxera.

Its action plan is based on recovering cultivation areas towards higher altitudes and the recovery of grape varieties, prioritizing irrigation and sustainable soil management. They reuse by-products of the production process to improve biodiversity and the organic matter of the soil, and use the most sustainable type of oenology and technology to improve the environmental footprint, as well as the production of their wine based on recyclable materials (100% of the packaging and marketing products are recyclable: labels, boxes, bottles, caps...).

With the Vinventions Angel program, Totó Marqués will be helped with the conditioning of the vineyard, to take advantage of pruning waste and the use of recyclable materials for the shipment of its new white wines.
