The wine-making tradition of Priorat is transferred to our winery in Poboleda to produce wines that best convey the Priorat Qualified Designation of Origin. A designation of some 1,930 ha of vineyards with a time-honoured history in the world of wine and which is home to over 600 wine-making families.
OUR WINERY IN PRIORAT IS WHERE OUR OMUS, SHIRUS AND OMUS BLAVUS WINES GET THAT FORCE OF CHARACTER THAT DEFINES THEM SO WELL. IT IS WHERE THE VARIETIES ARE SEPARATED AND PERFECTLY FERMENTED TO ACHIEVE THAT QUALITY FINISH.
Because this is a winery that cares for its raw material, always working to the most demanding standards, as can be appreciated in everything we do.
Our La Pleta and Les Foreses vineyards are on the outskirts of the village of Poboleda. Both lie in the district Priorat and as such are deserving of a designation of such renown.
THESE TWO VINEYARDS PRODUCE THE EXQUISITE VARIETIES OF GARNATXA, SYRAH, CARINYENA AND CABERNET SAUVIGNON THAT ARE SO TYPICAL OF THE AREA AND OF OUR OMUS, SHIRUS AND OMUS BLAVUS WINES.
The distinctive slate soil —called Llacurrell locally—, of their terraces and their historic vine-stock make us feel very proud of these vineyards.
Poboleda presides over the unrivalled scenery of Priorat. Some 14 km2 and home to over 370 inhabitants, the River Siurana passes through this moderately sloped, small village.
THE MEANING OF ITS NAME, “POPLAR FOREST” REVEALS A LOT ABOUT POBOLEDA: A PLACE SURROUNDED BY PRECISELY SUCH VEGETATION.
Abounding in folklore, Poboleda is a small village founded in 1170 where historic 18th and 19th century architecture is to be seen. A perfect spot to get away from it all and relax.
